It all started in 2006. Two young engineers recognized an opportunity to establish a voluntary beverage packaging return system in Hungary, powered by their innovative, self-designed reverse vending machines. They sought out partners, developed their groundbreaking concept, and built what is now a successful reality.

Our story

Across the globe, beverage cans are typically collected either via deposit-return schemes – offering a higher refund for undamaged cans – or as low-value, often compressed, waste. Prior to 2010, there were no automated solutions for collecting this latter form of material.”

2006 - The first aluminium can RVM is manufactured

2010 - 1.0 - Our groundbreaking innovation, designed to accept damaged cans, is now produced and installed for use

2011 - Tesco utilizes our machines to automate its beverage packaging return service."

2012 - Auchan Hungary becomes our partner

2016 - We've started installing our machines in Romania

2019 - The installation of the first reverse vending machine in Belgium

2022 -Our bid has been selected as the winning proposal for the international tender to develop the Dutch aluminum can deposit scheme

2022 - Returmatic, in partnership with MOHU, operates the groundbreaking ReturMobil – the world's first 5:1 mRVM/mCC mobile counting center system designed to efficiently replace fixed counting centers

2024 - As a partner of MOHU, Returmatic operates the world's first ReturMobil the unique 4:1 mRVM/mCC mobile counting centre system, replacing counting centers.
